How Does It Work?

At our salon, we perform epilation with a diode laser, which is currently the most effective form of permanent hair removal in the world. The diode laser uses the principle of selective photothermal decomposition. Light energy is converted into heat, which acts on the pigment in the hair called melanin. Thanks to the scientific design of the diode laser handle, the high-energy laser beam immediately penetrates the skin and reaches the hair follicle, destroying the follicle. The laser energy emitted by the device is easily absorbed by the colored hair follicle without damaging the epidermal tissue.

The laser works on all hair shades and all skin types. The intervals between sessions depend on the area being treated and also on the individual hair growth cycle, as the laser works most effectively in the active growth phase of the hair. In general, the facial area is treated repeatedly after 4-6 weeks, the bikini area and underarms after 5-8 weeks, and the rest of the body, including the limbs, after 6-8 weeks at the earliest. If slower hair growth is visible, the intervals can be slightly longer. The number of necessary treatment repetitions is very individual, usually 6-10 sessions to achieve optimal results. The laser is not effective on gray hairs, as they do not contain melanin. Epilation is not performed on tattooed skin, as the laser beam could damage the tattoo.

Before Treatment

Avoid solarium and intense sunbathing 2 weeks before the procedure. In the period of 4 weeks before the procedure, the hair on the treated area must not be depilated. It is necessary to shave the treated area with a razor no more than 24 hours before the procedure so that the laser beam can accurately target the bulb under the skin.

Treatment Process

The procedure is painless, non-invasive and performed by trained medical personnel. During the procedure, the treated area is heated, the client may briefly feel warmth and a slight tingling sensation on the skin. For very sensitive skin, the intensity and speed of the laser beam are reduced so that the client is not uncomfortable. The treatment usually lasts from 15 to 40 minutes, depending on the size of the treated area.

During the treatment, the client wears special glasses to block the laser light. Before the treatment, the skin is thoroughly disinfected and makeup is removed. A cooling gel is then applied to the treated area and the laser head is placed against the skin.

Aftercare

After the treatment, the skin may be sensitive and red for a short time. Apply an unscented moisturizer to the skin and wear loose clothing. Avoid physical exertion due to sweating and subsequent skin irritation for at least 24 hours after the procedure. Avoid sunlight and tanning for at least 2 weeks after the procedure.

Treatment Results

Results can be seen after the first treatment, but for the effects to become permanent, it is necessary to undergo approximately 6-10 such sessions at regular intervals (the number of sessions is individual depending on the type of hair and skin color).
While hair may grow back as before after the first treatment, you will see fewer and fewer hairs after progressive treatments, so completing the entire series of treatments and keeping the spacing is key to achieving the highest degree of permanent hair reduction.
